"Crack" falls: priority target and generator of violence arrested in the State of Mexico

José Luis "N" , alias "Crack" , was arrested in a coordinated operation between federal, state, and armed forces after being identified as a priority target and one of the main drivers of violence in the eastern region of the State of Mexico. The arrest, the result of intelligence and surveillance work, occurred after a search warrant was executed, which led to an armed confrontation.
The Security Cabinet reported that authorities located the home where the suspect was hiding, thanks to various lines of investigation . Upon arriving at the scene, the officers were attacked with gunfire , which caused them to repel the attack and secure the area. During the exchange, a State Police officer was injured by a gunshot and was taken to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.
Inside the building, authorities arrested "Crack" and seized long weapons, drug doses, and tactical equipment . Everything seized, along with the detainee, was handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine his legal status.
The head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) , Omar García Harfuch , stressed that the arrest was part of the operations of the Unified Command East , led by the Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico (SSEM) , and highlighted the key role of investigation and intelligence in neutralizing high-impact targets.
The capture of “Crack” occurred almost at the same time as the arrest of Jaret Roberto “H” , identified as the alleged perpetrator of the murder of the Attorney General of Tamaulipas , Ernesto Cuitláhuac Vásquez Reyna. According to the Attorney General's Office (FGR) , Jaret Roberto “H” was located in a rehabilitation center in Reynosa, Tamaulipas , after investigations linked a vehicle used in the homicide to him.
Analysis of his cell phone confirmed his direct involvement in the August 4 attack, when armed men intercepted and shot the prosecutor. The detainee is identified as a member of the Gulf Cartel 's "Los Metros" faction and is identified as one of the main operators of huachicol fiscal (a type of fuel theft) in the region.
Both arrests reinforce the federal government and state strategies to dismantle criminal structures through targeted actions. In the case of the State of Mexico, the arrest of "Crack" seeks to reduce violence in eastern municipalities, while the Tamaulipas case directly impacts a criminal network linked to the murder of a high-ranking official .
These operations reflect the importance of interagency collaboration between state and federal police forces and the Armed Forces, as well as the use of intelligence to locate and neutralize priority targets . Although criminal violence continues to represent a challenge in several regions, the Government insists that these types of arrests are key steps to reestablish security and territorial control .
